Bestselling authors and London Library members David Nicholls and Jessie Burton discuss their latest work and their relationship with the historic 'writers' library
David Nicholls is one of Britain’s most successful writers and the author of several books including Starter for Ten, Us and Sunday Times Bestseller One Day. His books have sold over 8 million copies worldwide and been adapted into films and TV shows. Throughout lockdown David has taken to social media to raise awareness of debut authors, literary events and charities that have needed support. Sweet Sorrow tells the story of first love, deep friendships and negotiating the rocky path to adulthood.
Jessie Burton’s gripping debut novel The Miniaturist propelled her into a household name and she hasn’t looked back. The Miniaturist and The Muse have both been New York Times and Sunday Times bestsellers, as well as being selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club. Her latest title, The Confession, looks at secrets and storytelling, motherhood and friendship, and how we lose and find ourselves.
