Calling All Young Writers!

The Young Writers’ Competition 2023 is now open with the theme: ‘Home’.

You can enter a story or a poem inspired by this year’s theme ‘Home’, but remember to be creative, imaginative and above all original. We are asking entrants to think about ‘Home’ and what this means to them as the inspiration and starting point for their story or poem.

The theme of ‘Home’ features in many stories because it represents something different to everyone. Undoubtedly, it excites and inspires the imagination. This year, as a starting point for their story or poem, we ask candidates to consider: What does ‘Home’ represent to you? Is this place local or far away? Is it new or old? Is it a feeling or an individual? What inspiration might you find from nature? The options are endless and only you know what this theme means to you-run away with your imagination!

Please note that all entries must be submitted by your teacher/school as we cannot accept direct entries.

Deadline for entries from schools is Friday 5th May 2023, 5pm.

The best entries will be published in the 2023 Young Writers’ Anthology and one lucky winner will win an iPad!
