Shoot the People: Film Screening

Misan Harriman: Q&A with Afua Hirsch
Misan Harriman, director of Shoot the People, photographed ahead of the film screening at Wimbledon BookFest.
In Shoot the People (2025), Misan Harriman examines how protest and organised movements can lead to social change, all the while capturing the resilience of activism through his lens. Before the screening, Misan Harriman will be in conversation with journalist and Festival Patron Afua Hirsch.
In addition to becoming the first Black man to shoot a cover of British Vogue and photographing modern icons including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Rihanna and Stormzy, Misan has also captured climate strikes, ceasefire protests and is one of the most widely-shared photographers of the Black Lives Matter movement.
‘That’s all this film is really saying: your voice matters, a whisper can become a roar, and we can be better than we are today.’
