Nussaibah Younis & Sanam Mahloudji

Women's Prize for Fiction Authors

Authors of two of the hottest debut novels of the year, both shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, talk about the stories they’ve chosen to tell.

From deradicalsing ISIS brides to a multigenerational Iranian disapora, these wholly original fictions grapple with major geopolitical issues razor-sharp wit, satire and humanity. These explorations of family, religion, representation and the decisions we make in pursuit of belonging exemplify fearless storytelling. Nussaibah and Sanam will be in conversation with award-winning writer and 2025 Chair of Judges for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, Kit de Waal.

‘What is surprising and refreshing is to see so much humour, nuance and lightness employed by these novelists to shed light on challenging concepts.’
Kit de Waal
