Susie Alegre: AI

Navigating AI - Friend or Foe?

As the scramble to keep pace with the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence rages on, there’s a growing conversation that often swings from the utopian to the dystopian.

International human rights lawyer and author Susie Alegre joins us to grapple with the real-world impact of AI on all our lives, the profound ethical dilemmas posed by emerging technologies and to explain how it can be controlled to transform the future of health, education and climate. Susie’s expertise in technology, AI and human rights is grounded in over 20 years’ experience of working on some of the most challenging legal and political issues of our time.

‘Alegre’s sharp legal brain conjures up the wicked problems of AI and provides a legal blueprint for humanity’s survival. Utterly brilliant.’ – Helena Kennedy

Maria Farrell will be in conversation with Susie. Maria is an Irish writer on technology and the future who has worked in technology policy and on digital rights and freedoms for over twenty years.

Please note that this event was previously advertised with Nigel Toon who is no longer able to attend.
