Woman Life Freedom

Voices and Art from the Women's Protests in Iran

This panel event chaired by Jo Glanville will discuss hardship, hope and empowerment in modern-day Iran and offer a context to the revolution, as well as celebrating the women determined to reclaim their freedom, dignity and self-expression.

Our panel will reflect on the impact of the protests, where they are going and what the future holds for Iran at this critical moment in its history.

Panellists: Writer and editor Malu Halasa, freelance illustrator Roshi Rouzbehani and artist and activist Fari Bradley.

Jo Glanville is a journalist, award-winning editor and human rights campaigner, specialising in defence of freedom of expression.

‘The beauty and strength of our movement is that every single one of us here is a leader.’ – Golshan, Women’s Rights Activist in Iran

Over the Festival period we will be running an exhibition with art from the book across selected Merton Libraries. Please see website for further details.

This event is part of a partnership with Merton libraries, funded by Arts Council England.
