Anne Sebba & Clare Mulley

Women of World War II: Stories of Survival

Untold stories of astonishing female agency and bravery during World War 2 are the starting point for this vivid conversation between two award-winning historians.

Anne Sebba unravels the tale of the Auschwitz-Birkenau women’s orchestra and Clare Mulley brings to life the story of a female resistance fighter, uncovering what gave these women the means to survive and examining the moral dilemmas they had to face.

Anne and Clare will be in conversation with Lennie Goodings, the Chair of Virago Press who has published authors including Maya Angelou, Margaret Atwood and Sandi Toksvig.

‘Anne Sebba brings meticulous research and a brilliant writer’s eye to one of the darkest questions of World War II. What would you do to survive and what might be the price?’
Anthony Horowitz
