Nick Manning: local history

Wimbledon & Putney Commons: Cultural Connections

Book tickets

Our corner of the world has long been home to remarkable figures in the arts. Novelists and poets, painters and composers, actors and singers – many of them lived, worked, and found inspiration on streets we still walk today.

Following the warm reception of his previous talks ‘The Commoners’ and ‘Beautiful Buildings’, this latest presentation continues Nick’s series exploring what makes our area distinctive — the people, the places, and the stories that link them.

‘From Robert Graves to Margaret Rutherford, from Jenny Lind to Georgette Heyer — they all called Wimbledon home.’
Nick Manning

This event will include an introduction by David Shriver.
