Book tickets

The BAFTA Fellow, screenwriter, novelist, comedy legend and one of Britain’s most renowned actors Meera Syal joins us for an event that promised to be touching, compelling and very, very funny.

Meera will share stories from her grandfather’s attempts to arrange her marriage, her working life as an actress and writer, her journey to motherhood and the changing attitudes towards women she has experienced over her career. She will also delve into her parents’ past, revealing lives deeply affected by the partition of India in 1947 and how that legacy has affected so many of her generation.

Meera will be talking to journalist and award-winning author Sathnam Sanghera.
