Take 10 Film Making - DECADES
Wimbledon BookFest partnered with Chocolate Films to teach sixth formers film making skills in the Take Ten project funded by The Wimbledon Foundation. Sixth formers from 7 local schools took part and made short documentary films profiling individuals from the local community as part of the London wide project 1000londoners.com.
The project themed Decades is part of the 1000londoners.com digital archive and highlights the differences and similarities of Londoners living a different decade of their life, from 9 to over 90. Film subjects included poet Kayo Chingonyi, Ursuline Nun Sr Una, and human rights lawyer Stephen Grosz. Not surprisingly war was a defining theme for those over 60 with issues of identity strong for the younger groups. A common thread - a sense of life choice not always being as expected.
Participating schools were St Mark's Academy, Graveney, Wimbledon College, Raynes Park High, Ricards/Rutlish (RR6) and Ursuline High. See what they felt abou being involved in the project Click Here
All ten films from Decades are in the playlist below. They will play sequentially by default, but you can navigate to a specific video after clicking PLAYLIST in the top left hand corner.
