Award-winning TV and radio presenter Anita Rani is one of the most recognisable faces on British TV with appearances on Countryfile, Strictly Come Dancing and most recently presenting Woman’s Hour. But growing up – trying to navigate her Indian world at home and the British world outside her front door – Anita was a girl who didn't fit in anywhere. How did she manage to become the powerhouse she is, whilst battling against being too white inside her home, too brown outside of it?
Fizzing with energy, hilarity and charm, Anita will share the lessons she wishes her younger self could have known. Anita addresses the time she spent morphing and shape-shifting into what was expected of her in situations to the extent she thought at one point she had lost who she was along the way. This story of a second-generation British Indian woman is also a tale of tenacity and a life lived with positivity and humour. If you have ever felt alone, different, or just not the right sort of girl or boy, this is the event for you.
Anita will be talking to The Sunday Times journalist and travel writer, Jennifer Cox.
