A Song of Gladness
CHILDREN & FAMILY EVENT
In conversation with Sam Carlisle
Sunday 13th June 2021, 2-3pm
All are welcome to join in our celebration of our amazing planet with the nation’s favourite children’s writer, Michael Morpurgo.
Inspired by time in lockdown, A Song of Gladness is both moving and full of hope. This event will remind us that gladness drives out sadness. From a blackbird in Michael’s Devon garden to leopards in the African Savanna, hibernating bears and chimpanzees high in the forest canopy, A Song of Gladness reinforces our connection with nature, and with each other.
In conversation with local journalist Sam Carlisle and reading from his book, accompanied by live music inspired by A Song of Gladness, the former Children’s Laureate will talk about the urgent need for us to join together in caring for the planet and every creature in it. This event promises to be an uplifting and timely reminder of the beauty and importance of the natural world.
An event for all ages and the family (aged 5+)
Sam Carlisle is a journalist and Founder & Director of Cause Commuications and campaigns for the rights of Disabled Chlidren. She lives in Wimbledon.
