An incredible and rare chance to hear from this global bestselling author on her visit from America.
We are delighted to welcome Patricia Cornwell to discuss her immersive and all-in approach to writing her pulse-pounding books. Cornwell’s hands-on and at times risky research includes becoming proficient in everything from motorcycles to firearms, ballistics to autopsies, scuba diving to helicopter piloting. While writing Quantum, Cornwell spent two years researching space, technology, and robotics at NASA, and studied with the Secret Service, the US Air Force, and Scotland Yard.
Quantum features Captain Calli Chase, a NASA test pilot, quantum physicist, and cybercrime investigator. Growing up just outside NASA Langley, she and her twin sister have long had their sights set on space, and in this world-building series starter, Calli discovers her sister has gone missing and may be involved in the suspicious death of a NASA contractor. Racing the clock before a top secret space mission, Calli must use her investigative skills and cutting-edge technology to find her twin and clear her name.
Patricia Cornwell is the creator of iconic novels and characters that are loved around the globe, having sold over 100 million books world-wide. Beyond the Scarpetta series, Cornwell is not afraid to make waves, identifying Walter Sickert as Jack the Ripper in her 2002 book Portrait of a Killer.
