One of the UK’s leading journalists celebrates the greatest women's travel writing ever written.
Mariella Frostrup’s latest book, Wild Women, is an extraordinary anthology of women’s travel writing. From the 1700s to present day, the book highlights 50 global inspiring pioneers, including Edith Wharton, Dervla Murphy and Cheryl Strayed.
The history of mankind’s journeys into the unknown is a well-trodden path – far less so the accounts of women’s place in that history. Wild Women goes some way to rectify that omission, chronicling the daring and pioneering stories of female adventurers in their own words. Curated by popular presenter of Radio 4’s Open Book and author Mariella Frostrup, this is a brisk, humorous and often unexpected collection that remaps the territory of global exploration.
Mariella will be joined on-stage by journalist and author Bella Pollen and journalist and adventurer, Lois Pryce. This is the perfect event for intrepid and armchair travellers alike. Jennifer Cox, Sunday Times travel journalist and News UK commissioning editor will chair the conversation.
Books will be on sale and the event will be followed by a book signing.
