'The true inspiration was that Olympic gold won by Chris Boardman in Barcelona... I was in awe of Chris Boardman.' Sir Bradley Wiggins
Chris Boardman is the much-loved co-presenter of ITV’s Tour de France and the BBC’s Olympic Games coverage, as well as being one of our greatest and most inspiring cyclists. Chris was the first British cyclist to win Olympic gold for 75 years when he stormed to victory at the 1992 Barcelona games. In 1994 he became the first British cyclist since 1967 to wear the yellow jersey at the Tour de France. In his Sunday Times best-selling autobiography, Triumphs and Turbulence, Chris outlines his transition from professional cyclist to backroom genius. His meticulous attention to detail and pioneering technical knowhow were crucial in British cycling’s success at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
John Inverdale is a television and radio sports presenter who has covered the Olympic Games, Wimbledon and the FIFA World Cup.
