2017 sees the launch of Wimbledon BookFest’s Festival Read with Merton Libraries. We encourage the community to read Ali Smith’s Autumn, which will be discussed at our Festival launch event. Ali Smith’s Autumn offers a meditation on a world filling up with borders, and on what richness and worth are. It casts an eye over our own time, asking who we are, right here, right now. This timely event comes in advance of her new novel Winter, and will provide a new unique insight into its themes. Ali Smith is an award-winning writer. Her novel How to be Both won the Bailey’s Prize for Fiction and the Costa Novel Award. She is also the writer of Public Library and Other Stories. We are delighted to be welcoming Ali to The Space at Wimbledon Library to open this year’s festival.
